Open Studio Event
Our Open Studio Event is nearly here! Throughout the 5 weekends of June 2013 more than 90 of our artists are opening their studios to the public, giving you the opportunity to experience "behind the scenes" and find out where and how they produce their work and to discuss the inspiration behind it.
You can find out who is open when if you search by 'Open Date' on our Artists page here. You can find the studio locations and directions in each artists profile. Not every artist is open every weekend, so be sure to check before you set out. Alternatively you can download our 2013 Directory of Open Studios here.
To make finding the artists easier, some of them have got together in an Artist Hub, or have formed an Artist Trail, so don't forget to check out those pages too.
Showcase Exhibition
Our Showcase Exhibition 2013 will be held as usual at Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, IP30 9HZ, from Saturday 18th May to Monday 27th May inclusive. Open every day from 11am till 5pm. There will be art and craft including, painting, prints, ceramics, textiles, glass and jewellery from over 90 Suffolk artists. It is an ideal opportunity to buy affordable art and to plan whose studios you want to visit during our Open Studio Event in June, when over 90 artists open their doors to the public.
The Private View is on Friday 17th May from 7.30pm till 9.30pm, all are welcome, you don't need an invite!
On the Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday of the exhibition selected artists will be demonstrating their craft, from Mosaics to Millinery, check out the events calendar for more details.
Free entry, all are welcome, ample parking and easy access just off the A14 near Bury St Edmunds.

The Brief:
The Apex Gallery welcomes submissions from Suffolk Open Studio artists. This is a fantastic opportunity to show your work in the award-winning Michael Hopkins designed Apex venue and to publicise your work in a high footfall central venue. The gallery is committed to showing art from the Eastern region and across the UK, which we hope will encourage art visitors and buyers to Bury St Edmunds and establish the area as a centre for cultural excellence.
