I was born in America, and studied ceramics as part my undergraduate degree in the late 1970’s. I moved to the UK in the ‘80’s and 5lived in Essex for 20 years teaching from my studio near the coast. From 2001-2004 I completed my City and Guilds Certificate and Diploma in Ceramics and Design. I worked for many years at Ipswich school as the Ceramic Specialist and Art Technician I still enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge in ceramics and printmaking. I moved to Felsham in Suffolk in 2023 to my new studio which has a rich pottery history.
I take my inspiration from the environment around me and the natural forms within it. As a keen walker and cyclist, my travels take me through a diverse mixture of landscapes in England and Europe providing a varied range of inspiration.
The majority my work is done throwing on the wheel and slab construction using stoneware and porcelain clays. I also make a small range of jewellery using porcelain. I love to make things that people love to use in daily life.
