Miniature houses, fragile landscapes, and stories Miniature houses, fragile landscapes, and stories waiting to be told – that’s the world of Suffolk artist Betty Pepper. Using only damaged and discarded books, she transforms them into intricate paper sculptures that explore both storytelling and the human condition.

Her ongoing series Living on the Edge is inspired by poetry, overheard fragments of conversation and her concerns about coastal erosion – a theme close to home since moving to Suffolk over twenty years ago. Every piece is eco-conscious, reusing materials that would otherwise be pulped or lost, and every house seems to carry its own personality, sometimes melancholic, sometimes jubilant, often just a little bit mysterious.

At once delicate and thought-provoking, Betty’s sculptures invite viewers to pause and reflect – on stories, memory, and on what it means for all of us to live a little “on the edge.”

Suffolk-born photographer Christiaan Partridge has Suffolk-born photographer Christiaan Partridge has a gift for capturing the shifting moods of the East Anglian coast. His work ranges from sweeping coastal landscapes to intimate macro details, often using long exposures to slow time and highlight subtle beauty.

Alongside his coastal studies, Christiaan also explores aerial perspectives with drone photography, offering fresh ways of seeing familiar places. His practice is deeply personal too – photography as both art and therapy, a way of appreciating stillness and presence in the moment.

Recently awarded a First Class Honours Degree in Photography and an ARPS distinction from the Royal Photographic Society, Christiaan continues to develop and share his work through prints, books and exhibitions.

Working with molten glass and forged steel, Alexan Working with molten glass and forged steel, Alexander Pearce creates striking garden sculptures, installations and functional pieces that explore the tension between fluidity and strength.

Each form is inspired by calligraphy and the natural world – glass blown with luminous clarity, metal forged with fire-marked intensity. Together, they become sculptural moments frozen in time.

Based in Suffolk, Alexander's work is a powerful example of what happens when materials collide with meaning.
