Contemporary Watercolours. Loose expressive style of rural landscapes and architecture, fields, hedgerows and trees.
Biography/Details

I am a contemporary watercolour and mixed media artist working mainly in a loose expressive style that enables me to use the flow and characteristics of the watercolour to try and capture the spirit of the natural landscape around me.

I find beauty in rural landscapes, hedgerows, changing seasons and particularly in the patterns and structure of trees. I work from a small studio in North Suffolk although I was born on a farm in rural Sussex.

As a child I was immersed in the unspoilt natural world around me and always found pleasure in drawing and painting what I saw every day outside.
For me, watercolour is unique and the perfect medium to reflect the natural flow, unpredictable outcomes and blend of colours and textures in nature.

Motivation for me has come from a desire and need to express the way I see shapes and drama in nature. The process of painting and seeing those images I have in my imagination  manifest on the paper, seems to me to be a way of saying this is who I am.

I have had several solo exhibitions over the past few years, my paintings have hung in a few local venues and I support one off local artistic events
