Abstract layered compositions exploring colour relationships.
Compositions are formed instinctively and freely, as the printing process evolves. Reflecting my enjoyment of shape, colour and pattern.
Biography/Details

I have been a printmaker for the past 15yrs - after a long and fulfilling  career in education.

I studied Textiles and Needlecraft in London in the early 1970’s

In 2017, I gained The Certificate in Fine Art Printmaking at The Curwen Print Study Centre and had the privilege of qualifying there under the tutelage of Stanley Jones.

I have been a member of Gainsborough’s House Print Workshop for the past 16yrs and joined 12PM Printmakers in 2022.

A longstanding fascination with modernism underpins my work.

I also have an enduring interest in textile design, sculpture and the works of a wide range of mid- century British Artists - this continues to influence all that I create.

I like to work in a loose, organic way. Abstract compositions are formed instinctively and freely, developing as the printing process evolves. My work reflects my enjoyment of shape, colour and pattern.

I find printmaking addictive – it is all consuming and offers limitless possibilities for creativity.

My preferred printmaking processes include mono printing, screen printing, relief printing and photo polymer plate.

Screen printing is a particular favourite as allows me to create layers of colour and texture using photographic images, paper stencils  and drawings .

I also enjoy experimenting with combinations of disciplines creating hybrid prints and more recently collaged print works.

I prefer to create images in series rather than editions making each piece unique in some way.
