The proximity of the coast and wonderful birdlife constantly influences my work. Bronze and stone sculptures frequently take bird forms whilst the huge skies and dramatic seas inspire my painting.
Recently, beach walks on the East coast have taken my work in another direction. I collect beach detritus, including plastics, palm oil, tar, nylon etc, to make sculptures that highlight the plight of our local wildlife and habitat.
Formerly, I lived and worked in Leigh on sea on the Thames Estuary, regularly exhibiting with Atelier gallery. My work has also been exhibited at the London Art Fair with Askew Fine Art, Katherine House Marlborough, Belgrave St Ives and Market House in Cornwall and numerous others in SE England. Recent works have been shown at Piers Feetham gallery Aldeburgh, as a guest artist, Gallery East Woodbridge. Last year I contributed to and co-curated the 12 week exhibition held at Ballroom Arts Aldeburgh. My ‘Blackcrap Crap Flock’ was on display at Fishers Gin, Aldeburgh for most of the summer.
