Biography/Details

I  trained as a watercolourist , completing a four year HND in scientific illustration and later a level 4 botanical illustration qualification.

However life and children came and it has taken me 24 years to finally get time to dedicate to my art!

In 2024  I took the leap and finally got myself a studio and dedicated my whole time to my art.

I enjoyed watercolour but after a class in acrylics and some research online I decided to try BAS relief plaster work.

Which I have totally fallen in love with.

Taking inspiration from the hedgerows, woods, valleys and coastlines of East Anglia.

The process starts with a collection of carefully selected natural subjects , impressed into clay then cast to plaster.

I love the fact that these castings are a ‘time capsule’ of a season or habitat . Like fossils. Collected and rendered even after the flowers and the day has faded.

My work is mostly botanical, but to satisfying my love for beach-combing its also coastal.

Collecting 'Flotsam and Jetsam' to carefully curate interesting compositions, to reflect the beautiful Suffolk coasts and rivers I live near to.

I finish my work in a variety of watercolour, acrylics, earth, sand, charcoal, rusts and pigments

Now in 2026 I offer workshops to share my love of the art all through East Anglia including  NT Flatford Mill, Hyde Hall, Blickling Hall. Suffolk and Essex wildlife trusts, Beth Chattos Gardens and Cambridge Botanical gardens.
