I create paintings and prints that celebrate the enclothed figure.
My love is textiles and the psychology of getting dressed. I've worked in fashion retail and as a stylist for decades, and many of my paintings reflect conversations overheard on the shop floor and through the fitting room curtains.
In 2023 I graduated with a First in Textile Design at Norwich University of the Arts, specialising in screen-printed textiles. My paintings incorporate paint and print, trying different layers to see what works - a bit like getting dressed.
I combine being an artist with my 'other job' as a qualified and highly experienced personal colour analyst, showing clients which colours suit them best. I bring my knowledge of colour into my work and joyfully dress my figures through paint.
My home studio in Pakefield on the Suffolk coast is just 324 steps from the beach. You'll usually find me in painting overalls but I'll get dressed up at the drop of a hat.
