I am retired and live in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
I have always enjoyed art, but like as with many things, life got in the way until I retired several years ago.
My retirement present to myself was a small garden studio. Former colleagues suggested it would be a white elephant - it is not. Over time it has become well stocked with art materials and equipment. It is my ‘happy place’.
I have experimented with many crafts but my favourite remains drawing/painting.
I joined a local art group which meets weekly in Stowmarket and this has given me the drive to be creative. As well as expanding my knowledge and skills, the interaction with like minded people has been a joy. I have created a number of pieces using different mediums including watercolour, coloured pencils, charcoal pencils, acrylic paints and pastel. My pictures are varied from animals, scenery and still life.
