Decorative hand-coiled bowls in stoneware and earthenware with oxide and underglaze washes inspired by coastline and landscape.
Biography/Details

Born in North London and trained at University College Hospital as a nurse but with a long term interest in fine art and ceramics.

My work is a response to where I have lived. From the rugged coastline of Ireland to the heartland of the English countryside and to the beautiful and unique county of Suffolk.

I use a superwhite Raku clay and decorate with thin washes of cobalt oxide and green underglazes with areas left unglazed to reveal the texture of the clay.

Hand coiling is my preferred method of working so that the human connection is always visible.

My hope is that the variation and individuality of my work, with the joy of creating it, is shared by those who see it.

I have been an active member of Open Studios for 20 years and an exhibitor at British Craft Trade Fair. My work is with a number of  galleries across the UK.
