Inspired by the landscapes, people and places of S Inspired by the landscapes, people and places of Suffolk and beyond, Jax Thurman’s expressive oil paintings capture light, emotion and movement in a distinctive tonalist style. Influenced by Turner, Picasso and Edward Seago, her work explores the connection between memory, colour and atmosphere – what she calls Defrag A, where moments are fragmented and reimagined through paint.

A professional artist for over 20 years, Jax’s paintings are held in private and public collections worldwide, including the George Blair Collection in San Francisco and Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch in Carmel. Her work is currently on display at The Crown Hotel in Framlingham, and 2025 will see the opening of her new studio in Eye.

Capturing the tranquillity of land and seascapes, Capturing the tranquillity of land and seascapes, Madeleine Tapp’s oil paintings draw the viewer into moments of stillness and calm. Working both en plein air and on large canvases in her studio, she focuses on light, atmosphere and the quiet power of the natural world.

Her work reflects an interest in mindfulness and biophilic design – exploring how connecting with nature, even through art, can reduce stress and enhance wellbeing. Each painting invites you to pause, breathe, and feel immersed in the open skies and reflective waters of East Anglia.

A photographer and printer with a focus on documen A photographer and printer with a focus on documentary and portraiture, Angus Stewart explores the stories behind communities, performances and place. His work ranges from social documentary projects to fine-art printing using photogravure, alternative processes and inkjet.

With an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication (UAL), Angus has exhibited and published widely — including London Burlesque: The Family Album (Circa Press, 2022) and Rights to the City (UCL Press, 2020).

His current commission with Heidelberg Materials, part of the Quarry Life Awards 2025, continues his interest in people, industry and the landscapes they shape. Thoughtful, observational and beautifully printed, his work connects human stories with the environments they inhabit.

Colourful, quirky and full of playful energy, Jayn Colourful, quirky and full of playful energy, Jayne Stansfeld’s textile creations are a joyful celebration of yarn, texture and imagination.

From knitted laptop bags and crochet accessories to woven and wearable “woolly things,” her work captures a sense of fun and freedom inspired by childhood creativity. Her ideas twist and knot together in unexpected ways – sometimes practical, always full of personality.

A recent MA Fine Art graduate, Jayne has completed a two-week art residency in Spain and will soon be exhibiting as a guest member at Designer Makers 21. With plans to open her own garden studio in 2025, there’s plenty more colour to come.

From flocks of earthenware geese to large stonewar From flocks of earthenware geese to large stoneware sharks and delicately handbuilt dishes, Priscilla Stannard’s ceramics are filled with life, movement and charm.

Working between the Orwell and Stour estuaries, her surroundings naturally influence her work – from coastal wildlife to the sails of Thames barges, which now glide across her pieces with beautiful, painterly detail.

Each handmade artwork brings a touch of Suffolk’s coastal spirit into the home – joyful, characterful and unmistakably unique.
