The Angle Gallery, situated in The Bury Framing Centre, located at 26 St John’s Street in Bury St Edmunds, will be exhibiting work by Julia Masterman throughout June 2024. A former teacher and now picture framer and artist, her work explores disruption of Greek myths including Leda and the Swan. New work includes a range of giclee prints that explore memories and sense of place that are further developed into painting. The colour green remains a theme in much of this work to represent the green screen and unseen inequalities. Plants, layers of monochrome in green, patterns and textures create a sense of place – in this instance the Botanical Gardens of Cambridge (detail).’
