Date: December 7, 2025
The SOS members’ Winter Exhibition – Christmas at Clare at The Old Goods Shed, Clare Country Park, will run from Friday 28th November to Sunday 7th December 2025, 10am-4pm.
As always, we need your help to make this event a success. Therefore, in addition to the usual stewarding slots, we have once again added further opportunities for you to offer assistance. You may sign up for more than one stewarding slot if you wish.
Thursday 27th November, 8.30am-12noon – we need volunteers to help with Drop-off, greeting artists, checking in their work, helping those who may have arrived without completed Artist Sales Sheets or labels and moving checked-in work to a staging area. Drop-off starts at 9am, so we have allowed time for a short briefing prior to opening the doors.
Friday 28th November – in addition to the morning and afternoon stewarding slots, we would appreciate some help between 4pm and 8.30pm setting up, and assisting, during and after the Private View.
Finally, on Sunday 7th December, in addition to the morning and afternoon stewarding slots, we need volunteers to help between 4pm and 6.30pm with taking work down, checking out artists’ work, tracking down items that artists can’t find and generally tidying up .
It is a condition of entry that each exhibiting artist volunteers at least once during the exhibition. Please choose your preferred date(s) and time(s) from the following list. Feel free to select as many as you would like, but do make sure to leave plenty of opportunities for others.
NB For your safety, Suffolk Open Studios does not permit lone “working” (volunteering) so if we are unable to fill certain stewarding slots, the exhibition will not open at those times and the potential for any sales will be lost, not to mention the inconvenience it will cause to visitors who may have traveled to the venue especially.
Parking: There ample parking on site but there is a charge. Car parking is charged between 9am and 7pm. The ticket machines take coins and there is also the option to pay by ‘phone (using RingGo) for a small extra fee. On weekdays the charges are £1 for the first hour, £2 for up to two hours and £3 for the day. At weekends the charges are £1 for the first hour, £2 for up to two hours, £3 for up to three hours, £4 for up to four hours and £5 for the day. There are usually a small number of free car park passes allocated to us but there may not be enough for everyone – first come first served I’m afraid!
