Suffolk born, and always feeling most at home in the county, I live and work in Ipswich in a purpose built studio, open for visits by appointment. Approaching retirement from a career as a graphic designer, my first love of drawing and painting took focus. Supported and encouraged by parents and teachers as a child, I studied at the Ipswich Art School (High Street) during which I was awarded a Distinction and Upper Pass for design.
Holding successful solo exhibitions at 142 Gallery in Felixstowe, I have successfully sold work in Ipswich, Snape and Earsham. A full archive of work can be found on his Instagram account and more limitedly within the Suffolk Open Studios website directory.
Mediums used in my work can be charcoal or graphite and I love to paint in oil. I have the freedom to choose subjects, they vary, I'm not limited to one, but prefer charcoal for figure drawing and oil for the outside natural world.
Art is the way I experience the unphysical world, to stand outside everyday things, and give meaning beyond language.
